Intro to Craniofacial Pain and Dysfunctions

Reda A. Abdel-Fattah is a practicing dentist in Boca Raton, Florida, who emphasizes prevention, diagnosis, and the management of Orofacial pain and temporomandibular disorder.  He is a graduate of Cairo University, Faculty of Dentistry with an honor degree, and the University of Florida, School of Engineering with a Master of Science degree in Material Science and Engineering emphasizing Biomaterials.  In addition, he graduated from Lynn University, Graduate School with a Master of Professional Studies with concentration on Biomechanical trauma.  He is a member, fellow, a board certified, and diplomate in several organizations that are dealing with Orofacial pain and temporomandibular joint disorders.  Dr. Abdel-Fattah has written several books, articles and lectures extensively to health and legal professionals.

 

Course Objective;
This course is designed to introduce the participant to the field of pain and dysfunctions in the craniofacial regions. It discusses anatomical and biomechanical considerations related to the craniomandibular region as well as the pathological conditions resulting from abnormal mandibular position. Evaluation and management such as intra capsular and extra capsular temporomandibular joint disorders, myofascial pain dysfunctions and dental sleep breathing disorders is presented. This is a flexible hands-on program that will be presented and progressed based on the level of attendees.
